The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially opened the registration portal for the highly anticipated National Youth Conference, popularly known as the Youth Confab. The event, which has been described as youth-led, inclusive, non-partisan, and transformational, aims to empower Nigerian youth to co-create meaningful policies for the country’s future.
According to the Minister overseeing the project, the Youth Confab is not just another government initiative, but a dynamic platform where young Nigerians can actively shape national policies. “This is more than just a conference. It is a generational turning point, a national movement and a call to action. It is a platform for us to listen, learn and lead together,” he said.
Olusanya, a key spokesperson for the conference, emphasized its significance, stating, “The Youth Confab is a platform established by the Nigerian government as a structured avenue for young people to contribute to national discussions and policy formulation in a way that ensures their ideas translate into action.”
A total of 36,000 participants are expected to register, with representatives drawn from all 360 federal constituencies. Young Nigerians living in the diaspora are also encouraged to apply, alongside students, entrepreneurs, creatives, community leaders, and young professionals.
Youth between the ages of 18 and 35 can register, with a 10% inclusion margin for applicants aged 35 to 40. Interested candidates can apply under two categories: Delegate Registration, which allows full participation in conference sessions and activities, and Observer Registration, which lets organizations monitor the proceedings.
Participants can also submit policy proposals that may influence future government decisions. To apply, visit https://app.nationalyouthconfab.gov.ng, fill out the registration form, and submit it before the June 30, 2025, deadline.
