The Imo State Government has approved the Imo State Universal Basic Education Board (IMSUBEB) to recruit Basic Education Teachers across all the Local Government Areas in the state. This recruitment will make sure that pupils in public primary and junior schools in Imo receive a high standard of education. The state wants to fill teaching positions with qualified teachers to address the shortage of teachers and improve the quality of education.
The Imo State Government has announced vacancies for teaching positions in its basic schools across various subjects. This recruitment exercise will take place for two weeks across the state. It targets individuals with qualifications such as NCE, B.Sc (Ed), B.Ed, and B.A (Ed). Those who meet these qualifications and have applied for teaching positions in Basic Schools are encouraged to apply.
After screening by IMSUBEB, candidates will need to check the list of approved names to see if they have been shortlisted. Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a recruitment interview and must come prepared with their original certificates.

Imo State SUBEB Recruitment Eligibility Requirements 2024
- Holders of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) are eligible to apply
- Applicants must have at least five O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, English, and three other relevant subjects in no more than two sittings
- Candidates with B.Sc (Ed), B.Ed, or B.A (Ed) are also welcome to apply
- Applicants should be at least 22 years old
- Candidates must be willing to teach where they are deployed in any local government within the state
- Persons with disabilities (PWD) are encouraged to apply and should identify such in their applications

- Click on the Apply Now button
- Register a new account using your active email address and phone number
- Fill out the online application form with your correct information
- Upload scanned copies of your recent passport photograph, valid means of identification (such as a National I.D card, Driver’s license, International Passport, or Voter’s card), and all academic qualifications
- Submit your application and print the registration slip
This slip will be required for subsequent stages of the recruitment process, including the IMSUBEB exam and interview.
