The Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has invited 5,928 applicants for interviews as part of the recruitment for senior school teachers. This was announced by TESCOM Chairman Mallam Bello Taoheed on Monday.
Kwara Tescom had recently released TESCOM CBT results.
The cutoff mark for applicants from Kwara State who applied for non-STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects is 60%. However, for those from Baruten, Isin, Oke Ero, and Patigi, the cutoff is set at 50% to allow more teachers to be recruited in those areas.
For STEM subjects, such as Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Computer, and Geography, the cutoff for Kwara State indigenes is 50%. This is to make sure there are enough STEM teachers in the state.
All 93 applicants from Kaiama Local Government Area have been invited for interviews, no matter their scores. Also, all 37 applicants who are Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) and wrote the Computer-Based Test (CBT) are invited.
Non-indigenes of Kwara State must score at least 70% in all subject areas to qualify for the interview.
