Lagos State student bursary 2024/2025 academic session — Lagos. The Lagos State Government has announced the opening of applications for the Lagos State bursary 2024/2025. The Governor of Lagos State has given his approval for the disbursement of the bursary to students who are residents of the state and facing financial difficulties. This bursary will support Lagos State students who are enrolled in recognized tertiary institutions within Nigeria and is meant to cover their academic expenses from the first year through to their graduation.
Lagos State Bursary 2024/2025
All students of Lagos State origin who are studying in any recognized tertiary institution in Nigeria are eligible to apply for this bursary in the 2024 academic year. The Lagos State Government pays N60,000 as bursary payment for each eligible indigene student.
This bursary is strictly for the 2024/2025 academic session and is open to students enrolled in private, state, or federally-owned tertiary institutions. The bursary funds will be distributed to Lagos State students attending various higher education institutions across the country.
In addition to the regular bursary, Lagos State also offers a Special Scholarship for Inclusion. This scholarship is designed to support people with disabilities and those who are multi-dimensionally poor. This scholarship is available to all residents enrolled in Lagos State-owned tertiary institutions, regardless of their state of origin. Applicants are to note that the Special Scholarship for Inclusion is not limited to Lagos State indigenes alone.
Lagos State Bursary Eligibility Requirements 2024/2025
- The applicant must be an indigene of Lagos State, with the exception of persons with disabilities
- The student must be enrolled in a private, state, or federally-owned institution in any part of the country
- The bursary is targeted at students who are financially disadvantaged, whether they are studying within or outside Lagos State
- People with disability who are non-indigent students are eligible for this bursary
How to Apply for Lagos State Student Bursary 2024/2025
- Visit the official Lagos State student bursary registration portal at https://portal.lagosscholarship.org/
- Register a new account
- Click on Apply and fill out the application form with your correct information
- Check your email for a verification link. Click on this link to activate your account
- Use your email and password to log in
- Complete the bursary form
- Scan and upload all required documents, including a recent passport photograph, a certificate of local government of origin, and your school ID card
The Lagos State scholarship board will verify all information provided and monitor the application process to confirm the students’ enrollment before disbursing the funds.
Lagos State Student Bursary Payments
The payment process for the Lagos State student bursary is currently ongoing. The Governor has directed that disbursements be made. All bursary payments will be directly deposited into the accounts of eligible students as approved by the Governor. This payment process will continue until all qualified students have received their bursary.
