The Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja, under the Federal Ministry of Education, has announced the Mauritius-Africa Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2025. This opportunity is open to eligible Nigerian undergraduate and postgraduate students who meet the specified requirements.

The scholarship scheme offers Nigerian students a chance to study at world-class institutions in Mauritius. It provides an excellent opportunity for personal and academic growth while fostering international cooperation.

Interested students are encouraged to carefully read the application guidelines and ensure all requirements are met before submission. Any application submitted after the stated deadline will not be considered.

Mauritius Scholarship Scheme Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following conditions to be considered for the scholarship:

  • All candidates must be citizens of Nigeria.
  • For undergraduates: Applicants must be over 18 years old and not exceed 26 years of age by 1st January 2026. For postgraduates: Applicants must not exceed 40 years of age by 1st January 2026.
  • A valid health certificate from a recognised government hospital is required.
  • Undergraduate applicants must have a good WAEC result.
  • For Master’s and PhD programmes, candidates must hold at least a Second Class Upper (2.1) degree.

How to Apply for Mauritius Scholarship Scheme

To apply for this prestigious scholarship, applicants are required to access the form through the following websites: https://ministry-education.govmu.org or https://highereducationmauritius.com.

The application form is available online and must be filled electronically. Once completed, it must be printed and signed. Applicants can.

Candidates are required to apply for at least one full-time, on-campus programme at any of the public Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) listed in Section 7 of the scholarship document. a. Applicants must secure a conditional offer of admission from their chosen Mauritian HEI and attach it to their scholarship application.
b. Alternatively, they can submit an acknowledgement notice from the institution, confirming that their application for admission has been submitted and the necessary application fees have been paid.

Submission Deadline

All applications, along with the required documents listed in Sections 1 to 6 of the scholarship guidelines, must be submitted to the Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja, no later than 20th February 2025.
