Niger State Scholarship 2024/2025 is Open – How to Apply Online

Niger State acholarship for the 2024/2025 academic session is ongoing. The Niger State Scholarship Board (NSSB) has opened the 2024/2025 session for student scholarship applications. This scholarship is approved by the Board under the Ministry for Higher Education to help eligible students fund their education.

It is available to all indigene students of Niger. The Board awards scholarships to qualified students in universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

2024 State Scholarship 2024/2025

This scholarship is for Niger indigene students who are either yet to receive their admission letter, currently enrolled with admission letter, or have completed their degree in tertiary institutions.

NSSB generally offers need-based, merit-based scholarships, and scholarships for students with physical disabilities enrolled in public tertiary institutions.

Students can apply for either Local or Foreign scholarship programmes.

Niger State Scholarship Requirements 2024/2025

  • All applicants must be indigenes of Niger with a valid NIN.
  • Indigent students studying within and outside Niger State are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be registered full-time students in government-approved public tertiary institutions.
  • Fresh students must have at least 5 credits in Mathematics and English in WAEC or NECO and any other three relevant subjects.
  • Undergraduate students must present a valid admission letter.
  • Shortlisted foreign scholarship applicants must undergo a drug test and provide a full medical certificate from a government hospital.
  • Postgraduate applicants for the foreign scholarship must have a minimum CGPA of 4.0 on a 5.0 CGPA system or 3.6 on a 4.0 CGPA system for a master’s degree.
  • PhD applicants must have a minimum of a Master’s degree with merit.
  • Need-based scholarship applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 on a 5.0 CGPA system or 1.6 on a 4.0 CGPA system, while a minimum CGPA of 4.0 on a 5.0 CGPA system or 3.5 on a 4.0 CGPA system is required for a merit-based scholarship.
  • Postgraduate applicants for a local scholarship must have a minimum CGPA of 4.0 on a 5.0 CGPA system or 3.2 on a 4.0 CGPA system.

How to Apply for Niger State Scholarship 2024/2025

Interested applicants should visit the official NSSB registration portal at https://nssb.org.ng and click on Apply to register. Students must complete the application form with their personal and academic information and print the online acknowledgment slip. Applicants can choose from Local or Foreign scholarships. Each scholarship category may be either need-based, merit-based, or disability-based.

The completed application form MUST be submitted before the deadline in the advertisement on the Board portal. After the registration period ends, physical verification will be conducted by the Board where 2024 successful candidates will be shortlisted.

Niger State Scholarship Funds Disbursement 2024

The National Association of Niger State Students (NANISS) National Headquarters has announced the commencement of scholarship payment for recent 2024 verification in Niger state.

Students who are yet to receive payment for the 2024 batch are urged to exercise patience as all Niger State students with successful verification will be paid. NANISS has also dispatched officials to various institutions outside Niger State to make sure that all qualified students receive their scholarships.
