The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced recruitment for qualified graduates and post-graduates for training as Direct Short Service Cadets (DSSC) in various professions. Interested and eligible applicants are to apply for free. The online registration starts on 14 October 2024 and will close on 26 November 2024.
Nigerian Air Force DSSC Recruitment Eligibility Requirements 2024
- Applicants must be of Nigerian origin by birth.
- Males should not be less than 1.66m tall, while females must not be less than 1.63m tall.
- Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit.
- Should not have any previous criminal convictions from a court of law.
- Between 20 and 30 years (Candidates born before 27 September 1995 are ineligible).
- Medical Consultants should be aged 25 to 40 years (Candidates born before 27 September 1985 are ineligible).
- Personnel above 30 years (born before 27 September 1995) should not apply.
DSSC Qualification Requirements
- A minimum of Second Class Upper Division for university graduates and Upper Credit for HND holders.
- Credit passes in English Language and Mathematics, alongside 3 additional credits in subjects relevant to their field of study.
- Computer literacy will serve as an added advantage.
- NYSC Discharge Certificate or Letter of Exemption must be presented at the time of application.
- Full registration with their respective professional bodies in Nigeria, where necessary, must be provided.
How to Apply for the Nigerian Air Force DSSC
Interested candidates are to apply online at www.nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng after reading the required disciplines before completing the application form. Only one application is allowed per person, and once submitted, no corrections can be made. Submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria should print out the following documents after submitting the online application:
- Local Government Area Attestation Form, which must be signed by a Military or Police Officer from the same state as the applicant. This officer must not be below the rank of Wing Commander or equivalent in the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, or an Assistant Commissioner of Police or higher. Other acceptable signatories include the Local Government Chairman/Secretary, a Magistrate, or the Principal of the secondary school attended by the applicant. The attestation form should also be accompanied by a passport photograph and a photocopy of the signatory’s Drivers Licence, International Passport, or National ID Card. The signatory will also authenticate the passport photograph of the applicant.
- Parent/Guardian Consent Form.
- Attestation of Good Character Form.
- Acknowledgement Form.
Aptitude Test
A Zonal Aptitude Test will be held on a date that will be communicated via the NAF recruitment portal. All stages of the Nigerian Air Force recruitment process are free. Please note that NO payment is required at any point during the exercise.
