Know These Before You Apply for the DSSC Recruitment…

The DSSC has its own conditions of service. First, DSSC is ONLY granted for 15 years. For an initial period of 8 years, it is renewable yearly for 7 years. Direct Regular Commission may be granted on conversion after 3 years as a commissioned officer.

If you get hired as a DSSC officer, you will be on probation for your first 3 years of service. Also, note that conversion to Direct Regular Commission is not automatic! It is based on application by an eligible commissioned officer and availability of vacancy and other criteria.

If you apply as a Medical Consultant Officer, you will be given the rank of Major after your military training from the date of commission. However, officer cadets are granted the rank of Lieutenant (except for medical consultants who will be commissioned as Majors) with seniority after military training from the date of commission.
