The Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) has been reopened by the Nigerian government. The Federal Government has relaunched the NYIF, which is an initiative that supports the country’s young entrepreneurs and innovators. The fund for 2024 is a N110 billion initiative that will give financial assistance to youth-led businesses. The 2024 NYIF will help businesses grow, create jobs, and contribute positively to the nation’s economic development.
NYIF Application Portal is Now Open 2024
The NYIF is part of the government’s efforts to fight the high unemployment rate among young people in Nigeria. Unemployment has been identified as a major issue facing the nation, and this fund is a move that will address it. The NYIF 2024 aim is to empower young entrepreneurs to turn their business ideas into reality, and create more jobs. The fund has a total of N110 billion available for distribution. It specifically targets youths aged 18 to 40 years old. This age range has been selected to include a broad spectrum of young people who are in the prime of their entrepreneurial potential.
NYIF Application Eligibility Requirements 2024
To qualify for the NYIF, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 40 years old
- Only Nigerian citizens are eligible to apply for the reopened NYIF funds
- Applicants must possess a valid NIN
- Applicants’ businesses/enterprises MUST be domiciled and operational in Nigeria
- Applicants must NOT have been convicted of any financial crime in the last 10 years
- A detailed business plan or proposal is required, which should outline the business idea, its viability, and its potential for growth
- A valid Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- Local Government Indigene Certificate
NYIF Application Process 2024
Here are the announced steps applicants need to follow to apply for the NYIF fund:
- Create an account on the NYIF portal at https://www.fmyd.gov.ng/nyif_application
- Register on the NYIF with your personal and business information
- Fill out the NYIF online application form, which will ask for information about your business or business idea, including financial projections, market analysis, and business strategy
- Upload the required supporting documents, including a copy of your National Identification Card (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN), information on school attendance, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) document or State level registration, Community Development Associations Certification (if any)
- Provide two referees, and their information, including their names, addresses, emails, workplaces, and portfolios
- Review your application carefully and click on Submit to complete your 2024 NYIF application online
Every information required from applicants is used to verify the credibility and seriousness of the applicants. NYIF funds is a serious programme for serious youths only. This launch of the NYIF is a step by the Federal Government of Nigeria to support young entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
Young entrepreneurs will be able to yo overcome the problems they might be facing due to inadequate funding. This support can enable them to grow their businesses, which in turn can lead to job creation and a reduction in the unemployment rate.
NYIF Loan status check 2024
You can check your NYIF loan status after your NYIF loan is approved. Simply log into your NYIF dashboard with your BVN and password via https://www.fmyd.gov.ng/nyif_application. This is the official portal for tracking your application status.
There will be mandatory training after registration. All candidates will be required to undergo a mandatory training program to equip them with the skills needed to manage their redirecting businesses.
However, applicants’ business plans should not exceed five (5) pages and must include:
- Executive Summary
- General business information, including the business name, location, and nature of the business.
- Product descriptions
- Access to market and marketing plan
- Management structure
- Financial information
- Implementation schedule, which refers to the timeline for the execution of the business plan
The application review process typically takes 4 to 6 weeks, but it can be longer if the organisers have many other existing applications to review.
