The Oyo State scholarship for the 2024/2025 academic session is now available for students to apply. This scholarship is approved by the Oyo State Scholarship Board to support students in paying for their education. It is open to all indigene students of Oyo currently enrolled in recognized institutions across Nigeria.
This scholarship is specifically for students who have already completed their first year of study.
Oyo State Scholarship 2024/2025
Each qualifying student who is of Oyo State origin will receive a scholarship sum according to their studies. This applies to both undergraduate, HND, and postgraduate students in tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The award can be merit-based or need-based.
The scholarship is available only to full-time students in Federal and State tertiary institutions. Part-time students or those enrolled in certificate courses are not eligible for this scholarship.
The Oyo State Scholarship Board also makes provisions for physically challenged students enrolled in public tertiary institutions. Students with physical disability are eligible to apply for this scholarship, and must have proof of disability.
Oyo State Scholarship 2024/2025 Requirements
- Applicants must be indigenes of Oyo State.
- HND, Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in approved/accredited Public Institutions are eligible to apply.
- Students on Part-Time and Diploma Courses are NOT Qualified to apply.
- Applicant must have completed at least one academic session in his/her higher institution to qualify for an award.
- CGPA of 4.0 (for University students) or 3.5 for Polytechnic and College of Education has an advantage (for merit scholarships).
- Students with disabilities are eligible, and must show proof of eligibility.
How to Apply for the Oyo State Scholarship
Interested applicants must apply online using the Oyo State Scholarship Board’s website and complete the application. On the application portal, the candidate should click on Apply for Scholarship and fill out the application form.
The applicant will be required to scan and upload the required documents, including letter of admission, a recent passport photograph, a certificate of local government of origin, course registration form endorsed by the Head of Department, and school ID card
Scholarship Disbursement
The Oyo State Scholarship Board will review all the information submitted. They will check that students are still enrolled in your institution before they approve and release the scholarship funds. If everything is in order, students’ applications will be approved, and the scholarship funds will be paid into their accounts.

This scholarship can be renewed each year, but only if students maintain good academic performance. Students must continue to meet the required CGPA to keep receiving the scholarship. The Board expects that students who receive the scholarship will remain focused on their studies and continue to perform well academically.
