The Rivers State government has officially opened the registration portal for the bursary award. This program is specifically to support students from Rivers State who are currently enrolled in tertiary institutions across Nigeria. The Governor approved this bursary to reduce the financial burden on students, especially during these tough economic times. On the other hand, scholarships in Rivers are meant for students on merits.

To be eligible for this bursary, students must meet the following criteria:
- The applicant must be currently enrolled in a tertiary institution
- The applicant must be an indigene of Rivers State
- All students of Rivers State, whether they are studying within or outside the state, can apply for this bursary
- Scholarships are based on merit, and only available to students with first class and second class upper
- Students with disabilities are eligible to apply (must indicate disability during registration)
How to Apply for the Rivers State Bursary Award 2024/2025
To apply for the bursary, eligible students should follow these steps:
- Visit the official registration portal at https://www.riversstate.gov.ng
- Fill in your personal and student information accurately.
- Upload all the required documents including a recent passport photograph, local government of origin certificate, last session results (stamped and signed), admission letter, and school ID card
- Click on Submit to complete the registration process
After submitting the application, students will receive an email confirming their registration for the Rivers State bursary. The application process is free, transparent, and easy to complete.
