The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recruitment exercise is ongoing, and the application form for 2024 is now available. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply for various positions within the Commission. The Securities and Exchange Commission is responsible for regulating and developing the Nigerian capital market. With a vision to be Africa’s leading capital market regulator and a mission to foster a dynamic, fair, transparent, and efficient capital market, the SEC plays a critical role in Nigeria’s economic development. To achieve these objectives, the SEC continually seeks highly skilled professionals to join its workforce.

The SEC targets candidates with expertise in the following fields: Accountancy, Law, Economics, Information Technology, Business Administration, and the Humanities.

Recruitment at the SEC fall under the following classifications: Director-General and Chief Executive, Office of the Secretary to the Commission, and Departments such as System Audit, Financial Audit, and Budget Control.

    SEC Recruitment Eligibility Requirements

    • Be a Nigerian citizen
    • Hold a valid form of identification, such as a National Identification Number (NIN)
    • Be between 18 and 45 years old
    • Possess a minimum of HND, B.Sc., NCE, or OND from an accredited institution
    • Have at least five credits in WASSCE, NECO, or GCE, obtained in no more than two sittings
    • Present a valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
    • Be free from criminal records and possess a reliable referee
    • Be computer literate, with skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software
    • Have a strong understanding of securities markets and investor protection
    • Provide a medical fitness certificate from a government-recognised hospital
    • Technicians and drivers must possess a trade test certificate or a valid driver’s licence.

    How to Apply

    Follow these steps to apply for SEC recruitment:

    1. Visit the SEC official application portal at www.sec.gov.ng.
    2. Sign up using accurate personal information.
    3. Click on the available positions listed under SEC recruitment.
    4. Fill in the required details and review your application carefully.
    5. Submit your application online.

    Multiple applications will result in automatic disqualification. As such, applicants are urged to only open an account once. Carefully review your application when submitting it to avoid any errors. The application form is free and available only through the official SEC portal. Applications submitted outside recruitment portal will not be considered. SEC election portal will remain open for two weeks.
