Blueprint Consult Company Limited, in collaboration with the North Core Project, has officially commenced a recruitment exercise for two significant roles within the Project Management Unit (PMU). This recruitment execute aims to strengthen Nigeria’s electricity infrastructure by engaging professionals for vacant positions in Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN.

The advertised vacancies are for the roles of Contracts Engineer and Transmission Line Supervisor. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications before the specified deadline.

The TCN is responsible for ensuring a smooth transmission of electricity nationwide. The TCN, which emerged from the defunct National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), is one of the 18 business units unbundled under the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

Available vacancies include:

1. Contracts Engineer

The Contracts Engineer will oversee the proper implementation of contracts awarded to companies handling construction projects. The individual will collaborate closely with the Senior Technical Coordinator of the central PMU. Applicants should be able to monitor the performance of companies awarded construction contracts, ensure compliance with international donor standards, including procurement guidelines, and collaborate with the Senior Technical Coordinator on project management and reporting.

2. Transmission Line Supervisor

The Transmission Line Supervisor will manage the construction of high-voltage transmission lines, working alongside consulting engineers and contractors to ensure successful project execution. Applicants should be able to collaborate with project engineers and contractors to ensure timely delivery and supervise the construction of high-voltage transmission lines.

TCN Recruitment Requirements

Contracts Engineer

  • A university degree (BAC+5 minimum) in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least five years of post-qualification experience managing contracts for major works.
  • Experience managing at least two high-voltage transmission line or transformer substation projects.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations of international donors such as the World Bank or African Development Bank.
  • Strong organisational abilities and team collaboration skills.
  • High level of professional integrity and work ethic.
  • Competence in supervising complex engineering tasks.

Transmission Line Supervisor

  • A degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
  • At least five years of experience in high-voltage transmission line maintenance or construction.
  • Expertise in topography, civil engineering, and GIS.
  • Proficiency in project management software like MS-Project.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and independent work capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders.
