Federal Scholarship Board (FSB) 2024/2025 – Nigeria. The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced its scholarship awards for students in the country’s tertiary institutions. This announcement came from the Federal Ministry of Education. These scholarships are available to students studying in Federal or State Universities within Nigeria.
Federal Government Scholarship 2024/2025
The Federal Scholarship Board (FSB) manages both foreign and local scholarship programmes. These scholarships are meant for Nigerian scholars who are deserving of such opportunities. Students studying at Federal or State Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, or Colleges of Education are eligible to apply.
Scholarships are available for undergraduate students in fields such as Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), Pilot Engineering, and Neurologist. However, postgraduate (Masters Degree and PhD) students of any field can apply.
Federal Scholarship Board Requirements 2024/2025
- All applicants must be full-time students enrolled at either Federal or State tertiary institutions in Nigeria
- All applicants must possess NIN slip
- Undergraduate applicants must possess a minimum qualification of 7 As and Bs in the Senior Secondary School Certificates WASSCE, including English and Mathematics
- Postgraduate (PG) applicants must have a minimum of a first degree with Second Class Upper division Honours
- Undergraduate (UG), Higher National Diploma (HND), and National Certificate in Education (NCE) applicants should be in their second year or higher
- Age limit for undergraduate applicants is 17 to 20 while postgraduate applicants must not be older than 35 (Masters) or 40 (PhD) years old
- PhD applicants must submit their NYSC discharge or exemption certificates
- NCE and HND applicants must have a CGPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
How to Apply for Federal Scholarship Board 2024/2025
Interested candidates can apply by visiting the Nigerian scholarship award portal at https://scholarship.education.gov.ng. Candidates should read the guidelines carefully before completing and printing the application form online. However, multiple applications will result in disqualification. Applicants are required to upload their Letter of Admission, CGPA result, National Identity Number, and State of Origin Certificate.
Candidates nominated by the scholarship Board will be required to submit copies of academic certificates, Data page of their current International passport, Medical Reports from Government hospitals, Birth Certificate and Indigene letter, and Police Clearance Certificate.

The application closes one month after the publication date of this notification. Beneficiaries with a CGPA below 3.50 will be withdrawn from the scholarship programme. Also, changing your course or institution while on this scholarship is not allowed.
