Commonwealth Scholarship Nomination Interview Dates Announced by Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja

The Federal Scholarship Board, under the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, has released the dates for the 2025/2026 Commonwealth Masters and PhD Scholarships Nomination Interview. Candidates who selected the Federal Scholarship Board as their nominating agency and completed the application form for the Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) are invited to participate in the interview.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Morufu Olatunji Alausa, has extended an invitation to all eligible applicants. The interview is scheduled from 25th to 28th November 2024, at Ekiti House (formerly RoseBud Hotel, Nanet Suites), opposite the Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja.

Below is the detailed schedule for the nomination interview:

Interview Schedule

Monday, 25 November 2024

  • 9:30 am – 11:30 am: Opening Ceremony led by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education.
  • 12:30 pm – 6:00 pm: Accreditation and Interview for candidates from the South West and North West.

Tuesday, 26 November 2024

  • 9:00 am – 6:00 pm: Accreditation at the Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja, followed by interviews for candidates from the North Central and South-South regions.

Wednesday, 27 November 2024

  • 9:00 am – 6:00 pm: Accreditation at the Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja, with interviews for candidates from the North East and South East.

Thursday, 28 November 2024

  • 9:00 am – 6:00 pm: Collation of scores and submission of reports by panelists, retired directors, and FSB staff at Ekiti House.

Interview Requirements

All candidates attending the interview are required to bring the following:

  • One hard copy of the Electronic Application System (EAS) form.
  • Original and one photocopy of all credentials.
  • Evidence of submission of two referee reports.
  • Supporting statement from a UK supervisor (for PhD candidates only).
  • Original academic transcripts.
  • National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate (original and photocopy).
  • Two passport-size photographs.
  • Documentation of any special awards, academic publications, or work samples.
  • For Masters applicants, a first degree with at least a Second Class Upper.
  • For PhD candidates, a relevant Masters degree and at least a Second Class Lower in their first degree.
  • Admission letter from a UK university listed on the Commonwealth site. Candidates without the specified requirements should not attend the interview.

Notes for Candidates

  1. Candidates must complete accreditation before the interview.
  2. Only candidates who meet the above requirements will be accredited for the interview.
  3. Candidates are expected to attend the interview on the designated date for their region; missed appointments will not be rescheduled.
  4. Non-English certificates must be accompanied by an official English translation and evaluation.
  5. Applicants should track their online applications to verify referee responses before the interview date.
  6. Only candidates who selected the Federal Scholarship Board as their nominating agency may attend.
