The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has provided a total of N71.016 million to Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU). This loan is targeted at 580 students who applied under the Federal Government’s education loan programme.
The announcement was made by the Vice-Chancellor of MOUAU, Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, during a meeting with the University’s Governing Council. He stated that the loan would cover part of the tuition and fees for the 2024/2025 academic session, as the 2023/2024 session had already concluded. The Council praised the initiative, urging the University to ensure transparency by publishing detailed disbursement records, including beneficiary names, amounts received, and the applicable academic session.
