The application for the Abia State student bursary is now open for the 2024/2025 academic session. The Governor of Abia State has approved the Abia State Scholarship Board (ASSB) bursary to assist students who are facing financial difficulties with their education. This bursary is intended for students who are in Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
Abia State Bursary 2024/2025
Registration for the 2024/2025 bursary is currently ongoing. Students who are indigenes of Abia State and are studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria can apply for this bursary award. The bursary is only for the 2024/2025 academic session. It is available to students enrolled in private, state, or federal government-owned tertiary institutions.
The bursary funds will be provided to Abia State students who are studying in various higher education institutions across Nigeria. This scholarship is managed by the Ministry of Education.
Abia State Bursary Requirements 2024/2025
- Applicants must be indigenes of Abia State
- Must be registered as full-time students in government-approved private and public tertiary institutions
- Students with disabilities are also eligible for this bursary
- Must possess a valid NIN
- Must be in their second year (200 level and above) in universities, Bachelors, ND, HND in universities, polytechnics/monotechnics, and NCE in colleges of education
- Must have an account with a CBN-approved commercial bank
How to Apply for Abia State Student Bursary 2024/2025
Eligible students are to visit the official Abia State ASSB registration portal at https://abiastate.gov.ng, click on Apply Now and fill out the application form with their correct personal and academic information. Candidates are to check their emails for a verification link and click on it to activate their accounts. Candidates will then log in to the bursary portal using their email and password and complete the bursary form. The Board requires candidates to scan and upload their recent passport photograph, Certificate of Local Government Origin, and your school ID card.
Students will undergo physical verification at the close of the registration period in their respective schools. They will need to present certified documents during the verification and monitoring exercise, including their school ID card, a letter of identification from the Head of Department, and a Certificate of Local Government of Attestation.

Abia State Bursary Payment 2024/2025
The Abia State Scholarship Board will carefully review all student applications. If the student is eligible, their account will be activated, and the bursary funds will be paid directly into their account. The payment process will continue until every eligible student has received their bursary award.
