The application for the Bayelsa State student loan is now open for the 2024/2025 academic session. The Governor of Bayelsa State has approved the Bayelsa State Higher Education Students Loan Board to provide interest-free loans to indigene students. These loans are available for students in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
Bayelsa State Student Loan 2024/2025
Registration for the 2024/2025 loan is currently ongoing for students who may need help paying their tuition fees. Students who are indigenes of Bayelsa State and are studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria are eligible to apply for this loan. It is open ONLY to students enrolled in public tertiary institutions within Nigeria.
Bayelsa State Loan Requirements 2024/2025
- Must be indigenes of Bayelsa State
- Must be registered as full-time students in public higher institutions
- Students with disabilities are also eligible for this loan
- Must possess a valid NIN
How to Apply for Bayelsa State Student Loan 2024/2025
Interested students should visit the official Bayelsa State Higher Education Students Loan Board registration portal at www.byshelb.by.gov.ng/signup. Create an account and fill out the application form to apply.
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Admission letter
- Recent passport photograph
- Certificate of local government origin
- School ID card or library identification card
- Original Letter of Identification (from the registrar, dean of student affairs, faculty dean, or head of department)
- Birth Certificate or Age Declaration
- Two copies of Guarantor’s Forms (downloadable from the Board’s website)
- Previous certificate (for postgraduate applicants)
These loans are only available to students in public higher institutions within Nigeria.

Bayelsa State Student Loan Payment 2024/2025
The Bayelsa State Higher Education Students Loan Board will carefully review all loan applications. Eligible students will be notified when their school fees for the 2024/2025 academic session have been fully paid. The payment process will continue until all eligible students have been cleared.
