Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria – Ekiti State University (EKSU) has announced the details for the 2024/2025 Post-UTME screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into the institution. Here’s what you need to know about the process, eligibility, and guidelines.
The screening exercise for UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates will begin on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Candidates should note that no physical examination will be conducted.
Eligibility for UTME and Direct Entry Candidates
Minimum UTME Scores:
- Mass Communication: 180
- Medical Laboratory Science: 220
- Nursing: 220
- Law: 240
- Medicine (MBBS): 250
Candidates Who Can Apply:
- UTME candidates who scored 140 and above and are willing to change EKSU as their first-choice institution on JAMB CAPS.
- Successful students from EKSU’s Pre-Degree and JUBEB Programmes, as per Senate approval.
Note: Awaiting result candidates (SSCE) are advised not to apply until their results are released.
EKSU accepts JUPEB (minimum of 7 points) for admission but does not accept IJMB.
How to Apply
Candidates interested in applying should follow these steps:
- Visit the Portal by Going to https://eksuportal.eksu.edu.ng and click on ADMISSION to access the online application portal.
- Create an account by providing necessary details, including an active email address and personal phone number. A verification email will be sent to confirm your account.
- Log in with your correct email or JAMB registration number as your username.
- Choose 2024/2025 PUTME application and enter your JAMB Registration Number.
- If EKSU was your initial choice, your information will populate automatically. Otherwise, input all details manually.
- Click on PAY NOW to pay for the screening form.
- Attach a 1″ x 1″ colored passport photo (red background, JPEG format). Upload ‘O’ Level results (WAEC/SSCE, NECO, NABTEB) from no more than two sittings.
- Preview, confirm, submit, and print the completed screening form.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission
Candidates will be considered for admission only if they meet these requirements:
Minimum Credits: At least five (5) Credit passes in SSCE/NECO/NABTEB in relevant subjects at not more than two sittings.
Direct Entry (DE) Requirements: Polytechnics: Minimum of Upper Credit for Engineering programs, and Lower Credit for other courses.
University Degrees: Minimum of Second Class Lower Division for related programs, such as MBBS and Law.
Nursing: Candidates must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Education Programs: NCE with Credit/Merit in relevant teaching subjects.
Transcript and Verification
- Direct Entry candidates should submit their transcripts to admissions.registration@eksu.edu.ng by September 30, 2024.
- NECO Results: UTME candidates with NECO results must submit their Result Verification Tokens at the Admissions Office or verify results via NECO’s website: http://everify.neco.gov.ng/ using admissions.verification@eksu.edu.ng as the email.
Candidates who fail to participate in the screening exercise will not be considered for admission. Additionally, providing false information will result in automatic disqualification.
