How to Register for NMCN in 2024

Basic applicants interested in registering under the General Nursing or Basic Midwifery Education must take the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Final Professional Qualifying Examination. Candidates can register for this exam through the NMCN portal at https://portal.nmcn.gov.ng/Examinations/applyExamination, where they will supply their Index Number and Date of Birth. Successful candidates will fill out the NMCN forms at their training institutions, which will then forward the forms along with the result file. The completed application forms must be signed and stamped by the Head of Department, Coordinator, or Principal of the training institution.

Post basic applicants, on the other hand, must submit the aforementioned documents (listed in the requirements section) to their nursing training school, which will forward the names to the NMCN. After completing the NMCN registration process, Post Basic applicants must collect a notification of registration.

Basic registration candidates must pay a non-refundable fee of N42,967 to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria through Remita at any bank. The fees for post basic registration is N61,092 for Midwives or Psychiatric Nurses or N44,500 for other Post-Basic Nurses.

If registration is delayed beyond 90 days after the release of results, the NMCN applies a late registration penalty fee of N16,250. This penalty applies to both Basic and Post-Basic registrations.

Unfortunately, name changes are only permitted for female applicants and only due to marital reasons (surname only).
