The National Population Commission (NPC) has officially announced the commencement of online applications for ad-hoc staff positions for the 2024 Population and Housing Census. Interested applicants can now apply via the Census e-Recruitment portal. The application period started on 31st October 2024 and will end on 28th December 2024.
NPC Ad Hoc Recruitment Positions 2024
The NPC invites applications from eligible Nigerians for various roles in the upcoming census. These roles include:
- Facilitators
- Field Coordinators
- Training Centre Administrators
- Monitoring and Evaluation Officers
- Data Quality Managers
- Quality Assurance Officers
- Supervisors
- Enumerators
These positions are crucial for the success of the census, ensuring the smooth collection and processing of data.
NPC Recruitment Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be Nigerian citizens.
- A minimum of a secondary school diploma is required. Higher qualifications such as bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degrees are also accepted.
- A valid National Identification Number (NIN) is required.
- Candidates must have an operational commercial bank account (student and NYSC accounts are not acceptable).
- Applicants must possess a functional email account and a valid phone number.
- Applicants should be proficient in using computers, tablets, and smartphones.
How to Apply
Interested applicants are directed to register on the Census e-Recruitment portal at https://nationalpopulation.gov.ng. To ensure successful registration, candidates must upload the following documents:
- National Identification Number (NIN)
- Functional Gmail account
- Functional phone number
- Operational commercial bank account
- Relevant educational certificates
Recruitment Portal Closing Date
The Census e-Recruitment portal will remain open from 27th October 2024 to 10th December 2024. However, there might be a temporary closure for six days in November 2024 for an internal audit and assessment.
The recruitment process is entirely free. Applicants are advised to beware of internet fraudsters and any individual or organisation demanding payment for applications.
Meanwhile, applicants will only be considered for deployment in their current area of residence. This ensures the ad-hoc staff are familiar with the communities they will serve.

The NPC has emphasised that the recruitment process is free and transparent. Applicants are cautioned to avoid fraudulent schemes or individuals posing as intermediaries. All communications should be directed to official NPC channels.
