Rivers State University (RSU), located in Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, has officially announced that applications are open for supplementary admission for the 2024/2025 academic year. This opportunity is available for students who attended the Post-UTME screening exercise but did not meet the weighted average required for admission into their initially chosen programs. Students can now apply for supplementary admission to join their preferred programs within specified faculties and departments.
The supplementary admission is only available for full-time undergraduate programs, and all applications must be submitted by the deadline, November 16, 2024. Mrs. I.B.S. Harry, the Registrar of Rivers State University, signed off on this announcement, confirming that RSU is ready to accept additional students into a wide range of programs across multiple faculties.
Eligibility Requirements
For candidates to be eligible for the supplementary admission process, they must satisfy certain requirements. Key conditions are as follows:
- UTME Subject Combination: Candidates must have taken the correct subject combination in their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to qualify for admission into the advertised programs.
- O’ Level Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of five O’ level credit passes, which must include English Language and Mathematics, as per the specific entry requirements for each faculty or department.
- Application Fee: Prospective students are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000). To make the payment, candidates should visit the RSU website at www.rsu.edu.ng, generate a transaction ID, and complete the payment at one of the designated banks through Pay Direct or using an Interswitch Verve-enabled card.

RSU will not consider any requests for course changes once the supplementary admission list is published. The supplementary admission process is set to run from Wednesday, October 30, 2024, to Saturday, November 16, 2024. Candidates must complete all online application steps, including uploading their O’ Level results, before the closing date.
