Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka College of Postgraduate Studies postgraduate admissions are ongoing and forms are on sale. Nnamdi Azikiwe University is now accepting applications for admission into its postgraduate courses for the 2024/2025 academic year.
The College of Postgraduate Studies invites applications from suitably qualified candidates interested in full-time, part-time, and online postgraduate programmes for the 2024/2025 academic year.
UNIZIK Postgraduate Admission Requirements 2024/2025
- Candidates must have at least 5 credits including English Language and four other relevant subjects from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or TC11 (for Faculty of Education only) obtained in one or two sittings.
- Postgraduate Diploma candidates who graduated from approved universities must have a first-degree classification with a Final Cumulative Grade Point Average (FCGPA) of 1.51 or above on a 5-point scale.
- Applicants from polytechnics or monotechnics must possess a Higher National Diploma with at least a Lower Credit.
- Master’s Degree Programme candidates should have a first degree in the proposed field of study with a minimum FCGPA of 2.50 on a 5-point scale. If the university does not use the FCGPA system, a minimum of 45% is required.
- Those with a Postgraduate Diploma from recognised institutions must have an FCGPA of 3.00 and above (on a 5-point scale).
- MPhil/PhD applicants should have a Master’s Degree in the proposed field of study with an FCGPA of 3.00-3.49 (on a 5-point scale).
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in the proposed field of study with an FCGPA of 3.50 or above on a 5-point scale. For universities not using FCGPA, a minimum of 60% is required.
UNIZIK Postgraduate Form Method of Application 2024/2025
Candidates should complete the application form online by visiting https://apply.cpgs.unizik.edu.ng. Fill out the form by providing all necessary information and click on Submit My Application. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided, so make sure to use a valid personal email address. Click on the link in the email to validate your account and activate it. Take note of your application number, as it will be your identity throughout the application process.
Once a candidate’s account is validated and activated, they have to log in using their application number and email address. Confirm your details and proceed to pay the application fee online using a debit card or transfer through Credo (for local students) or Paystack (for international students). Do not navigate away from the payment page until you are redirected back to the application portal.
After payment is completed, continue with the rest of the application process and check your email for payment confirmation. Once the final application is submitted, print your completed Application Form and Transcript Request Form. These forms should be sent to the candidate’s previous institution for their academic transcripts. Any name change should be indicated on the transcript form.
The sale of forms for the 2024/2025 academic year begins as indicated on the portal. The deadline for submission of forms for 2024 is also stated on the portal, and candidates should take note.
Transcripts, whether hard or soft copies, must be forwarded to the Secretary, College of Postgraduate Studies by the given 2024 date. Soft copies of transcripts may be sent to secdr_transcript.cpgs@unizik.edu.ng from institutional email addresses only.
Instructions for PhD Applicants
PhD applicants must upload a proposal of no more than five typewritten pages. The proposal should include:
- Name of Applicant
- Proposed Department and Faculty
- Topic (not more than 18 words)
- Brief Background of the Study
- Aim and Objectives/Purpose
- Methodology
- Expected Outcomes
- References
