Borno State scholarship 2024/2025 — Borno. The Borno State scholarship for the 2024/2025 academic session is now open for students to apply. This scholarship is approved by the Borno State Scholarship Board to assist eligible students in paying for their education. It is available to all indigene students of Borno State. The Board will award scholarships to qualified students who are already in their second year and above in universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
Borno State Student Scholarship 2024/2025
This scholarship aims to support students from all twenty-seven Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Borno State who wish to study Medicine (MBBS), Engineering, or the Chinese Language at prestigious institutions in the People’s Republic of China. Eligible students will be provided with a monthly stipend of N30,000 throughout the duration of their studies.
The scholarship is available only to full-time students in federal, state, and private tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Part-time students or those enrolled in short courses are not eligible for this scholarship.
The Borno State Scholarship Board also offers scholarships for physically challenged students enrolled in public tertiary institutions. Students with physical disabilities are encouraged to apply for this scholarship, and it is restricted to Borno indigenes alone.
Borno State Scholarship Requirements 2024/2025
- Applicants must be indigenes of Borno State
- Must possess a valid NIN
- Indigent students studying within and outside Borno State can apply
- Must be registered full-time students in government-approved public tertiary institutions
- Must be studying subjects in Medicine and Engineering, including courses like English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Must have excellent results in Art subjects
- Must have a minimum of 75% in WAEC for MBBS or a minimum of 65% in WAEC for Engineering
- Applicants should be between 18 to 25 years of age

- Visit the official Borno State student scholarship registration portal at https://scholarship.bo.gov.ng
- Click on Apply Now
- Complete the application form with accurate information
- Download and print the online acknowledgment card for your personal record
The completed application form must be submitted within the stipulated period of one month as stated in the advertisement on the official State Scholarship Board portal according to the Executive Secretary. Physical verification will be conducted at the close of the registration period in your respective schools. After this screening exercise, an oral interview will be conducted for the final candidates.
Applicants must submit certified copies of the following documents along with the application form: school fee payment receipts, school ID card, letter of identification, certified transcript by the Registrar of the school, certified copies of credentials, and a Certificate of Local Government origin.

The Borno State Scholarship Board will review all the information submitted. They will verify that students are still enrolled in their institutions before approving and releasing the scholarship funds. Once approved, the scholarship funds will be paid directly into the students’ accounts.
