The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has raised concerns over a misleading advert circulating on the website www.deroundtable.com. The ad, titled “Apply for Boys Industrial Training Initiative 2024 Undergraduate Technical Internship,” claims to offer an industrial training programme to empower young Nigerians. However, ITF has clarified that it has no affiliation with this advertised initiative.
According to ITF, they are currently focusing on a legitimate training programme named the Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) Programme. This official initiative aims to train, certify, and empower 10 million Nigerian artisans across 20 trades. ITF assures Nigerians that this programme supports career growth locally and internationally and cautions against the unauthorised advert.
ITF advises the public to exercise caution and take the following precautions to avoid falling victim to scams:
- Verify Official Channels: Confirm any communication claiming to be from ITF by checking their official websites: www.itf.gov.ng or www.supa.itf.gov.ng. ITF contact numbers are 08097772103 through 08097772109.
- Exercise Caution: Avoid sharing personal or financial information through unsolicited requests.
- Report Suspicious Activity: If you encounter individuals posing as ITF representatives, report them to authorities immediately.
The ITF remains committed to maintaining public trust and protecting Nigerians. They urge everyone to stay vigilant and thank the public for its cooperation in ensuring a secure environment for all.
