Ekiti State Scholarship and Bursary Disbursement

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has approved the release of N182 million for the 2024/2025 bursary and scholarship programme. This educational support fund will benefit thousands of Ekiti indigenes currently studying in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

Announced in Ado-Ekiti by the Chairman of the Ekiti State Scholarship Board, Hon. Wole Adebola (Esq.), the disbursement includes ₦61.68 million for bursaries. A total of 3,084 students will receive this financial aid. Additionally, 1,502 students will benefit from undergraduate scholarships worth ₦120.36 million.

The selection process involved a strict screening and verification exercise conducted in partnership with each student’s institution. This move supports Governor Oyebanji’s Shared Prosperity Agenda, which prioritises youth development and access to higher education.

Students pursuing postgraduate degrees—Master’s and PhD—are also expected to receive scholarships soon. The release of these funds is part of Ekiti State’s continued investment in education, which can lead to better career opportunities, stronger communities, and long-term economic growth.

The scholarship disbursement provides financial relief for parents and promotes equal access to learning, aligning with high-value goals such as education grants and student aid funding.
