Federal Teacher’s Scheme recruitment 2024 — Nigeria. The Federal Teacher’s Scheme (FTS) has announced that the recruitment exercise for this year 2024 is now open. The Federal Teachers’ Scheme was established as part of the Federal Government’s efforts to ensure quality basic education in Nigeria. This scheme recruits unemployed holders of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) for a two-year teaching service in public basic education schools, including ECCDE, primary, and junior secondary schools.

Federal Teacher’s Scheme Recruitment Requirements 2024
- Applicants must be a Nigerian citizen
- Applicants must be unemployed
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
- Qualification should not be lower than a Second Class (Lower Division)
- Applicants must have completed or been exempted from the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC)
- Must possess the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from a government-approved institution
- Must not be above 40 years of age
How to Apply for Federal Teacher’s Scheme Recruitment 2024
Eligible candidates are to visit the recruitment portal at https://ubec.gov.ng and choose the teaching position they wish to apply for based on their academic qualifications. Candidates will need to complete the application form, provide all the required information and upload their academic qualifications and other documents. After submitting the application, applicants should print out their application slips.
The 2024 application process is free. Candidates are strongly advised not to pay anyone for assistance. The Federal Teachers Scheme 2024 application closes two weeks from the date of this announcement.

After the application period closes, shortlisted candidates will be invited for a screening exam, which will include a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and an interview. Successful candidates will then be selected to teach under the FTS programme.
