1. Apply through Your College
You have to submit your application through your respective college or department. Make sure to check the specific requirements and deadlines for your program. Your department will be the ones to process your application and send it to SNU.
2. First Round of Selection
Your college will conduct the initial review of your application, assessing your academic achievements, qualifications, and other factors. Of course, your school won’t just throw in any student to SNU as they’d be looking for capable ones to represent the school abroad. If you have been performing well in school, you should have no problem getting past this stage.
3. Second Round of Selection
SNU’s Office of International Affairs will then review the shortlisted applications, evaluating your language proficiency, academic background, and other criteria. This will happen after your school sends out your application to SNU. You have to track the application.
4. Confirmation by the Korean War Memorial Foundation
The Korean War Memorial Foundation will verify the selected candidates to make sure they meet the necessary requirements and standards. It usually doesn’t take long as they rely a lot on your school’s judgement and your GPA.
5. Admission Decision Announcement
Finally, the admission decision will be announced. You will be informed by email if you are a successful candidate of SNU’s acceptance or not. This is why you have to keep checking your email very often, something like daily is enough if you’re not someone who checks their email very often.
