How to Join Fulham Football Academy

Fulham Football Academy is currently recruiting young players into its academy for 2024/2025. Players can develop their technical abilities further if they are willing to play overseas in European clubs like Fulham FC. Your current local academy or college football may not take you far in your career unless it can expose you to scouts from top clubs. Fulham Academy registers players in any position, including forwards, wingers, midfielders, defenders, and goalkeepers.

How to Join Fulham Football Academy

1. Get Scouted

Your best chance is getting a Fulham scout to recommend you. The problem with this method is that if your country doesn’t have Fulham visibility, you’ll never directly be seen, but a different club can find you, and eventually it leads to Fulham.

Fulham scouts players locally and internationally, and players have to be between under 7 and under 18 years old.

Countries like Nigeria, Egypt, etc., seldom see Fulham due to poor Fulham scout visibility in these areas. Don’t get this wrong. Fulham has a very good network of scouts worldwide. They are very good at identifying young players.

Fulham scouts do wear the club’s apparel, so players may not know when their scout is present. Players will only know Fulham have been at the game when they make contact with the current club. Usually, Fulham will always approach the coach or manager before making contact with the parents of the player.

Some people consider the Fulham trials. But it’s complicated, and here’s why. Fulham Academy trials are by recommendations only. When a scout highlights a prospective player to the Fulham Recruitment Department, the club takes an expansive process to see whether there is potential for the recommendation to proceed.

If you get scouted, it’s a FREE pathway to joining Fulham Academy. The Club will never ask anyone for money to fill out the Fulham registration form.

2. Join Fulham Player Pathways

Participate in Fulham FC’s Player Pathway programme by sending an email to academyrecruitment@fulhamfc.com. This email should contain links to your portfolio and highlight videos. But understand that so many people send them emails too. Therefore, you may not receive a response quickly.

This Player Pathway programme is a football development programme for talented players. Fulham uses it to develop players’ technical and tactical knowledge and understanding of the game.

3. Participate in Trials at Fulham

Fulham holds open trials every season for specific ages of players and on a sporadic basis. Usually, the trial information will be posted online and within the area where the trials will take place. Trial is only open to players who hold an EU passport, or who have ‘leave to remain’ documentation.

Players are also welcome to forward a playing CV to the academy at academyrecruitment@fulhamfc.com. Make sure to include a fixture list with kick-off times and venues for your team and your football background, including your date of birth, playing position, clubs previously played for and any representative achievements.

You should include any letters of reference or recommendation (if any) to support your Fulham Academy application.

Didn’t solely rely on your current academy football. Instead, make sure to participate in any local tournaments, especially those ones with international affiliations to help get you to Fulham faster.
