·

Kwara TESCOM has announced the next phase of its recruitment process. Starting Monday, February 17, 2025, text messages will be sent to 9,459 applicants who successfully completed their online applications. These applicants were chosen based on specific criteria, including having the right university qualifications and meeting the age requirements.

Mallam Bello Taoheed, the TESCOM Chairman, explained that 26,349 candidates initially started the application, but not all made it through. Some were disqualified by the system for not meeting the set criteria, such as exceeding the age limit or lacking relevant degrees. Out of 11,617 who fully completed the process, only 9,459 were shortlisted for the next stage, which is the Computer-Based Test (CBT).

Most of the shortlisted candidates, 87.95% (or 8,319), are from Kwara State, while 12.05% (or 1,140) are non-indigenes. Additionally, 4,332 candidates (45.80%) applied to teach STEM subjects. The gender distribution shows 4,709 males (49.78%) and 4,750 females (50.22%) among the applicants. Forty applicants living with disabilities have also been included, with special provisions made for them during the test.

The CBT is scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2025. Candidates will take the test at designated centres, including Thomas Adewunmi University, Oko; Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa; and the University of Ilorin, among others. Applicants are required to select a centre on the portal and print their examination slip, which they must bring along to the venue.

The test begins at 8:30 a.m., and candidates are advised to arrive at least one hour early. Proper behaviour during and after the test is crucial, as it forms part of the assessment process.
