Ondo State scholarship 2024/2025 academic session — Ondo. The Ondo State scholarship for the 2024/2025 academic session is now open for applications. The Ondo State Scholarship Board has approved this scholarship to help students with their academic finances. This scholarship is available to all indigene students who are currently enrolled in recognized Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Education, Schools of Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Technology within Nigeria.

Ondo State Scholarship 2024/2025

The scholarship award is specifically for qualified students who are already in their second year and above in Universities, and those in HND1 and above in Polytechnics and Monotechnics. Each qualifying student of Ondo State origin will receive N100,000.00 if they are in a recognized tertiary institution in Nigeria, whether they are studying for an HND or an undergraduate degree.

Only full-time students in recognized Federal, State, and Private tertiary institutions in Nigeria are eligible for this 2024 scholarship.

Physically challenged students who are from Ondo State and are in recognized tertiary institutions in Nigeria can receive special financial assistance of N50,000.00 every year. This assistance is given regardless of their academic performance and applies to students in N.C.E, O.N.D, H.N.D, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate programs.

Meanwhile, medical students and Ondo State students in Nigerian Law Schools can also receive financial assistance of N50,000.00 per student.

Ondo State Scholarship Requirements 2024/2025

  • The applicant must be an indigene of Ondo State
  • The scholarship is only for full-time students in recognized Federal, State, and Private tertiary institutions in Nigeria
  • The student must have completed at least one academic session in their institution. This is because their performance in the first year examination will determine if they are eligible
  • The scholarship is meant for students who are financially disadvantaged, whether they are studying within or outside Ondo State
  • Students who are studying part-time, pre-degree, or certificate courses are not eligible for the Ondo State scholarship
  • Students who have physical disabilities and are enrolled in tertiary institutions (with proof of their disability) can apply for the scholarship award
  • Regular scholarships are for students in their second year or higher with a minimum CGPA of 4.0 in Universities or 3.5 for HND and NCE students in Polytechnics and Colleges of Education

How to Apply for the Ondo State Scholarship 2024/2025

If you are an Ondo State student who wants to apply for this scholarship, follow these steps:

  • Go to the official Ondo State Student Scholarship registration portal at https://onssb.ondostate.gov.ng/ossms/
  • Click on “Apply Now” and fill out the application form with accurate details
  • Check your email for a verification link. Click on the link to activate your account
  • Use your email and password to log in to the scholarship portal
  • Click on the link to complete the scholarship form once logged in
  • Scan and upload the required documents such as a recent passport photograph, a certificate of local government of origin, and your school ID card

For students in medical and law-related courses, be sure to select the appropriate course of study when filling out the form. Students applying for regular scholarships will have to take an online aptitude test. However, if you passed the last aptitude test and received the scholarship, you do not need to take the test again. But you must keep your CGPA at 4.0 or 3.5, depending on your course.

After applying, students will go through a screening process. During this process, they will need to present certain certified documents for verification. These documents include a school ID card, a Letter of Identification from the Head of Department, and a Certificate of Local Government of Attestation.

The Ondo State Scholarship Board will carefully check all the information provided and monitor the application process. They will confirm that the student is still enrolled before they pay out the scholarship funds. The Board will review all applications, and if the student meets the requirements, their account will be activated.

This scholarship can be renewed, but only if the student maintains good academic performance. Students must keep up the required CGPA to continue receiving the scholarship.
