TETFund Stops Overseas Scholarships from 2025

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has announced the suspension of its foreign scholarship program for academic staff. This decision was made by the Board of Trustees and shared in a statement by Abdulmumin Oniyangi, the Fund’s Director of Public Affairs.

The suspension will start on January 1, 2025. The reason for this move is the high cost of training in foreign schools and the increasing number of scholars who do not return after their studies.

However, scholars already studying abroad will continue to receive their funding until they finish their programs. This change aims to address financial challenges and ensure better use of resources. TETFund remains committed to supporting education but will focus on local training options moving forward.
