The Akwa Ibom State Government (AKSG) has announced vacancies for teaching positions in basic schools. The recruitment process will last for two weeks. These positions are open to candidates with qualifications such as the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), Bachelor of Science in Education (B.Sc Ed), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), and Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A Ed).
If you possess these qualifications and are interested in teaching in basic schools, you are encouraged to apply through the Akwa Ibom State primary school teachers’ recruitment portal. The official portal will be provided during the application process.
After AKSUBEB conducts the screening process, candidates can check if their names are on the list of shortlisted candidates. Those shortlisted will be invited for a recruitment interview, where they must present original and photocopies of their documents and qualifications.
The recruitment is open for several roles, including Headmaster, Education Officer, and Classroom Teacher. Subjects needed for teaching positions include:

Akwa Ibom State SUBEB Recruitment Requirements 2024
- Hold a Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)
- Have at least five O’ Level (WASSCE, NECO, GCE) credit passes, including Mathematics, English, and three other relevant subjects, in no more than two sittings
- Candidates with B.Sc (Ed), B.Ed, or B.A (Ed) are also eligible to apply
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old
- Be willing to teach in any local government area within the state
- First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC)
How to Apply for Akwa Ibom State SUBEB Recruitment 2024
Applicants should collect forms from any of the following centres:
- Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District: State College, Ikot Ekpene.
- Eket Senatorial District: Government School, Afaha Eket.
- Uyo Senatorial District: West Itam Secondary School, Itam and Aka Community Secondary School, Aka Offot
Completed forms and handwritten applications stating Qualification, Age, State, and Local Government of origin, along with photocopies of relevant credentials, should be addressed to The Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (AKSUBEB), Igongesit Nkanga Secretariat Complex, Uyo. These must be submitted at the centres one week from the date of collection.
Candidates found making payments in exchange for recruitment opportunities will be handed over to security agencies, and their applications will be disqualified. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be entertained.
