The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for its 2025/2026 Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme. This scholarship gives Nigerian students a chance to study abroad in top universities while gaining valuable skills for the oil and gas sector. It’s a great opportunity for those who want to grow their careers and receive high-quality education without worrying about the cost.
The PTDF Overseas Scholarship is fully funded and covers travel costs, tuition, health insurance, living expenses, and bench fees where needed. For the 2025/2026 academic session, successful applicants can pursue MSc degrees in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, or Malaysia. PhD scholarships are available in Germany, France, and Malaysia. However, for the UK, PhD scholarships are now offered as a Split-Site Programme. Students will study both in Nigeria and the UK through the PTDF College of Petroleum and Energy Studies in Kaduna (CPESK), in partnership with three UK universities: Robert Gordon University, University of Strathclyde, and University of Portsmouth.
This oil and gas scholarship supports PTDF’s mission to develop skilled Nigerian professionals in petroleum technology. It also aligns with efforts to reduce dependence on foreign expertise by building local capacity. This move is important for the future of Nigeria’s energy industry.
Eligible applicants must be Nigerian graduates with excellent academic records, applying for MSc or PhD programmes related to the oil and gas industry. All applications must be submitted online before the deadline of 4th June 2025.
