Admission into Akwa Ibom State College of Nursing Sciences for Basic Midwifery Programme 2024 is ongoing. The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) has approved the admission into the Basic Midwifery Programme for the 2024 intake. The Akwa Ibom State College of Nursing Sciences is now admitting eligible candidates for the 2024 session.

Basic Midwifery Entry Requirements

Candidates must have WASSCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB with credits in English Language, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Mathematics. These credits must be obtained in no more than two sittings.

WAEC and NECO results can be combined, but NABTEB results cannot be combined with any other examination. The minimum age for applicants is 16 years and above.

Method of Application

Registration for 2024 starts on the date indicated in the admission announcement and is held at the College main Campus between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm daily, excluding public holidays and weekends.

There is no online form or processing available. Registration will only take place at the College main Campus, Ikot Ekpene (formerly School of Nursing, Ikot Ekpene).

The registration fee is different for indigenes and non-indigenes of Akwa Ibom State. Candidates must come with the following for registration:

  • Three recent coloured passport photographs
  • Original and two photocopies of Educational Certificates (FSLC, WASSCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB), Birth Certificate or Age Declaration, Certificate of Local Government of Origin, and Change of Name document (if applicable).

After registration, candidates will be invited for an examination. The date of the entrance examination for 2024 is printed on the application slip. Candidates will also be notified of their resumption date after the exam.
