Admission is ongoing into the School of Basic Midwifery, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (SOBMAEFUTHA) for 2024/2025. SOBM AEFUTHA is now selling admission forms, and is inviting interested and qualified candidates to apply for Basic Midwifery and Post Basic Midwifery programmes. All applications are to be submitted through the official admission portal.
Admission Eligibility Requirements
- Candidates must be at least 16 years old by 2024.
- Applicants must have five credits in their O’level results, which must include English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology obtained in no more than two sittings in WAEC/GCE/NECO/NABTEB.
- NABTEB can only be combined with NABTEB.
- Candidates must present a coloured printout of the examination photo card and proof of Remita payment (e-receipt) at the exam venue.
- Post Basic Midwifery applicants must be registered nurses and provide their Nursing Notification and licence during the application process.
How to Apply for SOBMAEFUTHA School of Basic Midwifery
- Visit the official admission portal at https://sobm-admission.aefutha.edu.ng.
- Click on the Make Payment link to generate a Remita invoice using the GIFMISCODE: 1000030488.
- Proceed to any commercial bank with the Remita-generated number to make the payment, or simply pay using a debit card on the Remita platform. Be sure to obtain an e-receipt or teller from the bank or Remita platform, as this will be needed during registration.
- After payment, send an Account Creation Request (desired username, desired password, and Remita receipt) via WhatsApp to 07036088036 or 08169634390 to have an account created on the admission portal.
- Once your account is created, log in to the admission portal, complete your registration, and print out a coloured examination photo card, which must be presented at the examination venue.
The sale of forms commences on 6th June, 2024 and Ends On 8th December, 2024.
Entrance Examination
Exam Date: 10th December, 2024
Exam Venue: SOBMAEFUTHA I Premises (ICT Centre, Centenary City, Opposite Ministry of Trade and Investment, Abakaliki).
Exam Time: 8am as written on the form.
The sale of forms for Post Basic Midwifery starts and ends as indicated on the form. Post Basic Midwifery exam date for 2024 is the exact date written on the form.
Post Basic Exam Venue:

Exam Time: 8:00 am.
