Scholarship for Female Students in Nigeria 2024–2025
1. Jim Ovia Foundation Scholarship for Nigerian Women 2024–2025
The Jim Ovia Foundation Scholarship has been announced to support female students in Nigeria. Eligible awardees receive support for their undergraduate studies, including tuition and maintenance allowances, for the duration of their program. Each year, the scholarship offers around 100 opportunities for new applicants. Renewal applicants are supported annually, provided they meet the following scholarship’s eligibility requirements.
- Personal intellectual ability
- Leadership capability
- Desire to contribute to society throughout Nigeria

Below are the Eligibility requirements:
- Open to all potential students who are Nigerian citizens and enrolled in a Nigerian institution.
- Each year, 100 awardees are selected from a pool of eligible applicants.
2. Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Undergraduate and Post Graduate Scholarship for Female Engineering Students
NLNG Scholarship has been announced for Scholarship for Female Students in Nigeria 2024–2025. This scholarship supports female engineering students with financial assistance for their undergraduate studies. This scholarship aims to promote gender equality in engineering and reduce the gender gap in STEM fields. All interested students are invited to apply for the NLNG Scholarships. 3. AAUW International Fellowships 2024
The 2024 AAUW International Fellowships program supports women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States. This is available to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who plan to return to their home country to pursue a professional career. A limited number of awards are available for study outside of the U.S. (excluding the applicant’s home country). Application requirements:
- Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree by the application deadline.
- Must have applied to their proposed institutions of study by the time of the application.

4. MPower Women in STEM Scholarship 2024
The MPower Women in STEM Scholarship supports female international/DACA students who are enrolled or accepted to study full-time in a STEM degree program at a program MPOWER supports in the United States or Canada.
Awards:
- Grand Prize: $6,000
- Runner-Up: $2,000
- Honorable Mention: $1,000
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be accepted at or enrolled in a full-time degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports.
- Must be an international student allowed to legally study in the U.S. or Canada.
For U.S. study, applicants must:
- Have a valid visa that permits study in the U.S.
- Be protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
- Be a U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder)
For Canadian study, applicants must:
- Be a Canadian permanent resident
- Have a valid Canadian study permit

5. WAAW Foundation Scholarship 2024
The WAAW Foundation Scholarship grants scholarships to female African students undertaking undergraduate studies in STEM disciplines. The eligibility criteria include:
- Female students of African origin, living and studying in Africa.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program.
- Studying STEM-related courses in a University or college in Africa.
- Presently a first or second-year student, or a third-year student for a 5-year course in a University.
- Ability to demonstrate financial need.
- Excellent academic record.
- Proven leadership, volunteering, and community service.
- Below the age of 32 years.
Apply for the WAAW Foundation Scholarships at https://waawfoundation.org/scholarship/ during the application period and complete the online form. The scholarship is a one-time award of $500. Required documents for the application include 2 Reference Letters to be submitted by your referees, 1 signed and sealed copy of your current transcript from your University, and 1 scanned copy of your school ID card.
6. Dorothy Marchus Senesh Fellowship for Women from Developing Countries 2024-2025
The Dorothy Marchus Senesh Fellowship awards two biennial fellowships to women from the developing world for studies in the field of peace. Each fellowship provides $5,000 per year for two years, totaling $10,000 per recipient. The Dorothy Marchus Senesh Fellowship is available at https://iprafoundation.org/dorothy-marchus-senesh-fellowship/. The 2024 deadline is closing in, so make sure to apply now as soon as possible.
7. NWAG Nigeria Scholarship
The NWAG Nigeria Scholarship offers 111 one-time scholarships, with three scholarships awarded per state of origin and three for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a female undergraduate student in a Nigerian university.
- Must not be a final-year student.
- Must provide proof of state of origin (Letter of Origination from the university or a letter from the local government office).
- Must submit two letters of recommendation from a Pastor, Imam, Village Head, Local Government Chairperson, or University Lecturer/Head of Department.
- Must submit one letter of recommendation from either the Dean of your Faculty or the Head of your Department.
- Must provide a photocopy of current university student identification.
- Must submit a current photograph of yourself.
Application is done at https://nwag.org/nigeria-scholarship.php. Each scholarship winner receives $300, with $150 awarded to each 1st runner-up and $100 to each 2nd runner-up, given in the Naira equivalent.
8. Shell Nigeria University Scholarship Scheme
The Shell Nigeria University Scholarship Scheme is a program run by SPDC on behalf of the NNPC/Shell/Elf/Agip Joint Venture. It aims to promote capacity building in Nigeria. Over 4,000 Nigerian undergraduates write aptitude tests to join the list of students supported by Shell Nigeria.
Application Process:
- Applicants are shortlisted based on their national SSCE and JAMB examination results.
- Shortlisted candidates take an aptitude test in Port Harcourt, Warri, Enugu, Lagos, or Abuja.
There are two categories of the scholarship, including the National Merit Award (NM): Open to Nigerian undergraduates and the Areas of Operation Merit Award (AOM): For students from communities where Shell Nigeria operates. 9. TY Danjuma MBA Scholarship for African Women
The TY Danjuma MBA Scholarship provides financial support to post-graduate African students who have been accepted into MBA programs at the top 10 leading business schools globally.

- Full contact details
- Name of Business School where you have been accepted
- Year of enrollment at the Business School
- Copy of offer letter from the Business School
- Copy of your CV
- Copy of your budget and funding shortfall (including confirmation letters for all scholarships and loans).

10. Unicaf Scholarship
The Unicaf Scholarship offers opportunities to study for internationally recognized Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degrees at low cost, through online study or blended learning.

- Apply at Unicaf Scholarship.
- After document review and final approval, the student can start studying.
