Ongoing Scholarship in Nigeria 2024-2025

1. Shell Nigeria Niger Delta Postgraduate Scholarship 2024-2025

Shell has announced the tenth annual NNPC/SPDC_JV Niger Delta postgraduate scholarship. This scholarship is for applicants from Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers states. The goal is to offer postgraduate study opportunities in courses relevant to the oil and gas industry for students from these states.

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must:

1. Display intellectual ability and leadership potential.

2. Have a good standard of English with at least 6.5 in IELTS.

3. Have been offered admission to study one of the eligible courses at a participating college through the normal application process.

4. Already hold, or expect to hold by the time of taking up the scholarship, a degree equivalent to a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree.

5. Have completed the National Youth Service.

6. Be ordinarily resident in Rivers, Imo, Delta, or Bayelsa State of Nigeria.

7. Be aged between 21-28 years old.

8. Currently reside in Nigeria.

9. Plan to return to Nigeria after completing the program.

Applicants need to submit an application for admission to any of the participating universities for one of the qualifying courses. Application forms for the scholarship will only be available through the websites of Imperial College London, the University of Leeds, and the University of Aberdeen after a formal offer of admission has been made. The universities will process applications and select candidates who will then attend interviews with SPDC before final selection.

2. Guinness Nigeria Undergraduate Scholarship 2024

This scholarship provides full tuition for students currently studying in public Nigerian universities.

1. The scholarship is open to students studying any of the following courses: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) – Humanities – Administration – Law – Medicine

2. Candidates must be first or second-year students in public Nigerian universities.

3. Candidates may be required to write an aptitude test.

4. Shortlisted candidates may need to provide a letter of introduction from the Chairman of their Community Development Associations where applicable.

3. MTN Science and Tech Scholarships 2024-2025

This scholarship is open to eligible 300-level students studying science and technology-related courses in Nigerian public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education).

300 students are awarded scholarships each year until they graduate, provided they meet the grade requirements. Starting in 2024, the annual award amount has increased from N200,000 to N300,000. Below are the Eligibility Criteria:

1. STEM students in public universities and colleges of education must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class upper credit).

2. STEM students in public polytechnics must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the OND program and must have secured admission into the HND program.

3. Direct entry-level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the OND program and must have secured admission into the 300 level/3rd year in a public university.

4. PTDF MSc Scholarship

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) invites applications from qualified candidates for overseas MSc and PhD scholarships to specific programs at selected institutions under its PTDF Overseas Scholarship Scheme for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Talking about selection process, eligibility criteria and requirements, PTDF scholarships are highly competitive, and only outstanding candidates are selected.

1. Applicants must have a minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) qualification in their first degree or a Second Class Lower (2.2) with relevant industry experience.

2. They must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC).

3. Applicants must be computer literate.

4. They must possess 5 O/level credits, including English Language and Mathematics.

5. A statement of purpose (maximum 500 words) is required, explaining the reason for the proposed study, its relevance to the industry, and its expected impact on national development.

6. Applicants must have a National Identity Number (NIN) and will need to verify it before applying for the scholarship.

5. Stanbic IBTC University Scholarship

This scholarship is aimed at encouraging hard work and academic excellence among Nigerian undergraduates. It is open to students who participated in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and have gained admission into any Nigerian state or federal university.

Documents required:

1. Recent passport photograph.

2. Valid ID card (NIN slip, voter’s card, birth certificate, or international passport).

3. 2024 UTME result with a minimum score of 250.

4. Minimum of 5 credits (including Mathematics and English Language) in the O’Level (WAEC, NECO, or GCE) with a valid statement of result or certificate.

5. JAMB or university admission letter.

6. Chevening Nigeria Masters Scholarship 2024/2025

Chevening is the UK’s international scholarships program. Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office and partner organizations, Chevening offers awards to study in the UK for one year on a fully funded master’s degree course.

7. Unicaf Scholarship 2024-2025
