Akwa Ibom State Scholarship 2024/2025 Award

Akwa Ibom State scholarship 2024/2025 — Akwa Ibom. The Governor of Akwa Ibom State has approved scholarships for very poor but intelligent indigene students from Akwa Ibom State. These scholarships are available to students studying at Federal or State Universities in Nigeria. Starting from the 2024/2025 academic session, each student will receive N200,000 per session.

The scholarships will be distributed as follows: 70% will go to undergraduates studying Science and Technology courses, and 30% will be allocated to students in other fields. Below is a list of the supported courses:

Marine Studies Arts, Humanities, and Management Sciences
Medicine and Surgery Education
Pharmacy Geophysics
Engineering Studies Oil and Gas-related courses
Agricultural Sciences Robotic Science
Physical Sciences Biological Sciences
Mathematics Geology etc.
Artificial Intelligence

Other science, ICT, and humanity courses are also eligible to apply.

Akwa Ibom State Scholarship 2024/2025 Requirements

To qualify for the Akwa Ibom State scholarship:

  • Applicants (including physically challenged students) must be full-time, indigent (very poor), and intelligent students in Federal or State Universities
  • Must be in at least their second year of study
  • Must have a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale
  • Must provide testimonials from their institutions
  • Must present a certificate of origin from their Local Government Council in Akwa Ibom State
  • Must be 25 years old or younger at the time of application
  • Must disclose the financial status, occupation, and means of livelihood of their parents

How to Apply for Akwa Ibom State Scholarship 2024/2025

Interested undergraduates should visit www.moe.akwaibomstate.gov.ng to fill out the application form.

All shortlisted students will need to bring the following documents to the interview, including Admission Letter, a Testimonial from the applicant’s Head of Department, Current Semester’s Result or Statement of Result showing the CGPA, Birth Certificate or Age Declaration, Certificate of Origin from the applicant’s Local Government Council, a Letter stating the financial status, occupation, and means of livelihood of the applicant’s parents, and the Student’s Identity Card.

Application closes one month after the date of this publication. Beneficiaries must submit academic results at the end of every session to maintain eligibility, with their CGPA verified by the Ministry of Education and State Scholarships Board.

Any beneficiary with a CGPA below 3.50 will be withdrawn from the scholarship scheme. Also, changing course or institution is not allowed while on this Akwa Ibom State scholarship.
