The application for the Bayelsa State student bursary is now open for the 2024/2025 academic session. The Governor of Bayelsa State has approved the Bayelsa State Scholarship Software (BSSS) bursary to help students who are facing financial difficulties with their education. The Bayelsa State Scholarship Board will give these bursaries to students who are in their second year or higher at Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
Bayelsa State Student Bursary 2024/2025
Registration for the 2024/2025 bursary is currently ongoing. Students who are natives of Bayelsa State and studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria can apply for this bursary award. The bursary is for the 2024/2025 academic session only. It is open to students enrolled in private, state, or federal government-owned tertiary institutions.
The bursary funds will be provided to Bayelsa State students who are studying in various higher education institutions across Nigeria.
Bayelsa State Bursary Requirements 2024/2025
- The applicant must be a native of Bayelsa State
- Must be registered as full-time students in government-approved private and public tertiary institutions
- Students with disabilities are also eligible for this bursary
- Must possess a valid NIN
- Must be in their second year (200 level and above) in universities, NDII and HND in polytechnics/monotechnics, and NCE II-III in colleges of education
- Must have an account with a CBN-approved commercial bank
How to Apply for Bayelsa State Student Bursary 2024/2025
- Go to the official Bayelsa State BSSS registration portal at https://bsss.ng
- Click on Apply Now and fill out the application form with accurate details
- Check your email for a verification link and click on it to activate your account
- Use your email and password to log in to the bursary portal
- Complete the bursary form by clicking on the provided link
- Scan and upload the necessary documents, including a recent passport photograph, certificate of local government origin, and your school ID card
Students will undergo physical verification at the close of the registration period in their respective schools. They will need to present certified documents during the verification and monitoring exercise, including their school ID card, a letter of identification from the Head of Department, and a Certificate of Local Government of Attestation.

Bayelsa State Bursary Payment 2024/2025
The Bayelsa State Scholarship Board will carefully review all student applications. If the student is eligible, their account will be activated, and the bursary funds will be paid directly into their account.
