How to Apply for FTN Registration in Nigeria 2024

Candidates have to complete the registration/licencing application forms with five coloured passport photographs on a white background. Candidates can apply via their training institution or online through the NMCN portal at https://portal.nmcn.gov.ng/FtnApplication/apply. The applicant will also pay a non-refundable application/examination fee of N45,500 into the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria through REMITA in any bank. Note that FTNs are to register under Basic Registration.

However, applicants from Sudan, the Republic of Niger, the Republic of Benin, and other Francophone countries must obtain an Indexing Number from the Council before the programme commences. The applicants will then complete the verification of the registration/licensure form and send it to the Foreign Nursing Registration Board/Authority, which will send it directly to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Candidates should collect the form from the Council’s Registration Unit, complete it, and return it promptly.

They will then sit for the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria’s pre-registration examination. The examination date and time will be communicated to the applicant in due course. Only successful candidates will move on to the next stage.

Successful candidates will pay the current registration/licencing fees if the orientation report is satisfactory. However, candidates from Francophone countries must undergo 18 months of training in an approved School of Nursing in Nigeria and sit for the Council’s Professional Examinations. If successful, they must then pay the current registration and licencing fees.
