The University of Benin Teaching Hospital is pleased to announce that admission into the College of Nursing Sciences for the 2024/2025 academic session is now open. The following programmes are available: School of Post Basic Nursing (SPBN) – Duration: One year and National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Nursing.
Applications are invited for admission into the following courses at the School of Post Basic Nursing, UBTH:
- Diploma in Ophthalmic Nursing and Management
- Diploma in Perioperative Nursing and Management
- Diploma in Paediatric Nursing and Management
- Diploma in Accident and Emergency Nursing and Management
- Diploma in Geriatric Nursing and Management
UBTH College of Nursing Sciences Entry Requirements 2024/2025
- ND/HND candidates must be at least 17 years old.
- Candidates applying for ND/HND should have scored a minimum of 180 in the 2024 JAMB examination.
- All applicants (ND/HND and SPBNS) must have a minimum of five credit passes in not more than two sittings at O-level (WAEC/NECO) in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- SPBNS candidates must be qualified nurses registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- SPBNS applicants must also have at least one year of post-registration clinical experience in their relevant area of specialisation.
UBTH College of Nursing Sciences Method of Application 2024/2025
ND/HND candidates are to visit the nearest JAMB accredited centre to change their institution to the School of Nursing, UBTH, Benin City. They must upload scanned copies of the following documents when purchasing the post-UTME form: JAMB result slip, JAMB change of institution slip, WAEC/NECO results, birth certificate, and passport photograph.
Candidates must also upload their O-level results to the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). The sales of post-UTME forms will begin on the date indicated on the form.

ND Duration: 2 Years HND Duration: 2 Years
A separate payment of Five Hundred Naira N500 to Nursing and Midwifery Council Committee Edo State Account No. 2004854377 First Bank of Nigeria.
For SPBNS candidates, applications should be submitted online via the UBTH registration portal at https://conubth.edu.ng/nursing-nd-hnd. Applicants must pay the prescribed fee as indicated on the portal. Note that the Geriatric Nursing Programme application is strictly online. Entrance examination/interview Holds on the 24th August, 2024.
UBTH College of Nursing Sciences Entrance Exam Date 2024
The entrance examination and interview for the School of Post Basic Nursing will be held for 2024 on the date indicated on the application form. The Post UTME screening test for ND/HND applicants will take place on a Saturday, with the exact date indicated on the form.
Upon admission, candidates should log in to JAMB CAPS, pay the required fee, and print their admission letter.
